I just saw my bill with roaming charge 4 times and all of them at a usage at 1 min. On 4 different day. I have already turn off my data roaming. Why would it be charge during my travel ? Please help and remove it.
Hi there
We verified the days with the charge and found that the Easy roam fees were triggered for usage outside the country.
March 25’th was activated by sent SMS
April 4 by sent SMS
April 7’th by checking the voicemail while roaming
April 13 for data usage.
You can check more details on how roaming is charged on our help page: https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296
You can also check the usage in the Self Serve account.
First of all, my roaming is turned off the whole time.
I supposted to have international SMS free for my plan. That was what I choose when your agent ask me to change from another service provider. So now I am charge for sending sms ?
second i don’t care what easy roaming is , I turned roaming off when I’m leave the country there should not be any charges unless I turned on my roaming is that right ? I never say yes for switching to whatever you call easy roaming. You guys are basically cheating by Providing a service that I didn’t agree on. And charge us .
Please take the charge off. And stop that easy roaming on the plan. This is one of the worst ways to earn money.
For your information, I have already purchased a Wi-Fi card. And it was use on my other phone, so I was connected hotspot the whole time. I have no idea why it was switch your easy roaming as mention , roaming is turned off the whole time. So why it was connected by itself ?
Hi
When turning data roaming off in the phone settings, this basically prevents data usage, however, you will still be able to make/ receive calls and send texts.
Your current free perk allows you to send international SMS and MMS from Canada, however, it doesn’t cover roaming usage, more details about the perk can be found here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/koodos-pick-your-perk-plans
To be able to send texts, the phone needs to connect to a cellular network, otherwise the text won’t go through.
Any usage made in roaming, except for incoming texts, triggers the roaming charges.
Kindly refer to the article we shared above for more details about how to prevent unwanted roaming charges.
If you want to dispute the charges further, please send us a messages on social media using the links at the bottom of this page or you can schedule a call back through the virtual assist.
