Please take my roaming charges off.. I changed all the settings and I was not in the state. Fix your stupid system and quit billing me for your. CRappy services.

Hi @Jesse

We weren’t able to find a roaming charge on your last bill, can you please let us know on which bill you see the charge?

If it’s on the pending bill, please start a new post once the bill is issued and we will look into it further.

This is a worldwide situation where the phone can pick signal from a tower across the border when you are living or traveling close to the border.

For more info about how to prevent accidental roaming charges, please check out this article https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296

Yes it's on my current bill.. and I turned roaming off so why is it still happening?? This is the biggest scam ever and I am willing to cancel my plan over this and will be sure to tell others.

@Jesse

We have just checked the pending usage and we cannot see any charge.

Can you please indicate on which date you see the charge?

Accidental roaming can happen when the phone picks a tower in the US, while you are physically in Canada. If data roaming is turned off, the phone can still pick a tower in the US while near the border, if automatic network is selected. Switching to manualt network and selecting Koodo will prevent a connection to a US tower. Please note that a device restart or device update may revert back to automatic network selection.

Sept 12 is the date I was charged. Automatic network has already been disabled. Manual network has been enabled and I have selected Koodo and it still did not prevent a connection to the us. Please solve this issue once and for all. I am tired of getting billed for this nonsense. This is theft. You are literally stealing my money with this scam.

@Jesse

We have double checked the usage on September 12 and we don’t see any roaming charge on this date.

Was there the roaming notification that you got with the roaming rates or do you see the charge in the usage section in self serve?

A roaming notification.

Thank you @Jesse

A roaming notification is sent automatically if the phone is connecting to a US tower, however, if no usage is made, no charged will incur.

If you notice any roaming charges once the bill is issued, please let us know and we will look into it further.

Since Canada and US are both sharing the same country code, there isn’t a technical way at the moment to block roaming althogether, however, with data roaming turned off and the phone on manual network (Koodo), the phone souldn’t be able to connect to a US tower.
